Neath, Port Talbot and Swansea MDT CAMHS are seeking an experienced & committed Practitioner (Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic) Psychologist to join their teams for 30 hours per week. this is a fixed term post until 30/06/19. There is some flexibility about where the post is based (in Swansea or at Neath Port Talbot Hospital, Baglan) but it is likely to involve working 2 days per week in each location. You will need excellent team working skills & the ability to identify & deliver appropriately targeted & high quality evidence based interventions for children & their families. You are expected to progress the previous postholder’s work, alongside senior colleagues, in further development of a local psychological therapies service. We would particularly like to appoint a practitioner with expertise in and enthusiasm for CBT but who can also provide other psychological interventions (such as attachment based therapy or DBT) with more complex cases. Teaching, supervision & mentoring of other staff is anticipated. You will join a regional CAMHS Psychological Therapies group for meetings & supervision. Psychologists are at the forefront of an expansion in the access to & quality of psychological therapies. This involves, service development, leadership, training & supervision of a variety of staff. You will the opportunity to supervise trainees from and contribute to the Cardiff Clinical Psychology Doctorate Course.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
