THIS POST IS A SECONDMENT FOR 6 MONTHS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE

An exciting 6 months only, fixed term secondment opportunity until 31st March 2019 has arisen for a suitably experienced Cardiac Nurse to apply for a Band 6 Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse at the Cardiac Catheter Lab / Cardiac Day Unit in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.


The post holder will support the development of establishing the Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) service in Cwm Taf; developing the nursing protocol and staff PCI training programme. 


The post holder must have significant previous experience of working in a Cardiac Catheter Lab and must have excellent clinical skills relevant to the cardiac catheter lab, with a good knowledge of specialist cardiac procedures.

They will be responsible for supporting the unit manager in delivering a quality nursing service to patients requiring day case diagnostic angiography or device implantation, acting both as a deputy manager and as a skilled practitioner.

They will be expected to work in rotation between the Day Case Unit and the Cardiac Catheter Theatre.

The post holder will need to have good interpersonal and leadership skills, be able to work well as a member of the team and demonstrate effective communication.

The post holder must be first level Registered Nurse with active registration with the NMC, educated to Degree Level or possess professional skills, knowledge and experience to equivalency with
specialist post registration training, experience and attendance at short courses to Diploma Level equivalency.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
