We're looking for consultant histopathologists to join our team at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant, South Wales.
We're recruiting at the top of the consultant salary scale.
We are a friendly, supportive team of general histopathologists each with our own subspecialty and MDT lead role. Currently there are opportunities to take a specialist interest (and supporting MDT role) in any of the main specialties, however MDT leadership roles in dermatopathology and upper and lower gastrointestinal pathology are encouraged.
The consultant team is supported by biomedical scientist specimen dissection.
Cwm Taf University Heath Board strongly supports career development and there are excellent opportunities to be involved in education, quality improvement, R&D and leadership.
The department has close links with the regional tertiary pathology service based in Cardiff and is also part of the Welsh pathology training scheme with two specialty registrars rotating on a regular basis. We also lead autopsy training for the Wales Deanery.
A recent service development has led to the incorporation of the Coronial autopsy workload into the programmed direct clinical care sessions within the consultants’ NHS job plans and therefore attracts no additional remuneration. The appointee may be considered (but not obliged) to participate in this service.
We will shortly be adopting digital histology which is a truly exciting innovation, changing the way we work.
Please get in touch to find out more.
