We are looking for a highly motivated individual to manage a functional assessment Ward within our our Older Persons Mental Health Service. The main purpose of this role is to provide day to day management and supervision of a team of registered and unregistered staff with 24 hour continuing responsibility to ensure patients get the highest possible standard of care.
The post holder will need to be a Registered Mental Nurse educated to degree level supplemented by post graduate courses/education and experience to Masters level.
Applicants will need substantial post registration experience in an inpatient settings working with patients with functional illnesses and have experience of leading, managing and supervising staff. You will also need to have working knowledge of recent Clinical Governance, implementing change and have undertaken clinical audit or research.
Good organisational and time management skills are essential along with advanced clinical asessment and inter personal skills. You will need to have the abiilty to prioritise, and problem solve and will need excellent written and oral communication skills.
Advanced specialist knowledge of dementia is essential along with good knowledge of safeguarding, DOLS, the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and the Mental Health Measures
The successful candidate must have be able to work both as an individual and as a member of a team, always acting in a professional manner.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
