Provision of care for Neonates and Children in South East Wales is currently undergoing new and exciting changes and CTUHB is at the centre of these changes. Highly motivated and forward thinking individuals are sought to join a committed and enthusiastic team of professionals to help develop these Paediatric Services in Cwm Taf and South Wales. We are developing new and innovative way of caring for children.
Hospitals in South Wales are working closely across Health Board boundaries in Alliances. It is anticipated there will be flow of patients and staff across the Alliance, however, the majority of work for employees in Cwm Taf, will take place in Cwm Taf. Long term plans, in line with the outcome of the public consultation are being made, to ultimately provide 24 hour a day seven day a week in-patient care of neonates and children in Prince Charles Hospital, with a large Paediatric Assessment Unit in Royal Glamorgan Hospital linked to the Children’s Centre. Successful candidates will work across both sites providing care of children and neonates in the acute and out patient environment. The position involves resident second on-call duties.

It is expected the post holder will show clinical leadership, set standards, be involved in supervision of junior trainees and participate in management within the Health Board. The level of clinical responsibility and delegated duties given to the Specialty Doctor will depend on previous experience and training and this will be in agreement with clinical director and supervising consultant who retains overall responsibility for their patients.
Applications for part-time working would also be welcomed.
