Fetal Wellbeing and Surveillance Specialist Midwife – Band 7
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed midwife specialising in fetal wellbeing and surveillance within the Midwifery Services of Cwm Taf UHB. This is an influential role within the management structure to drive forward an extremely important aspect of maternity care. By implementing appropriate care pathways in partnership with the Midwifery Team you will enhance the first-rate care for all women who use our service.
As specialist within this area you will act as a role model demonstrating clinical leadership and midwifery expertise, and promoting team working.
You will be expected to review, plan, implement and maintain the four elements of the “Saving Babies Lives” A Care Bundle and will complement the role of the Labour Ward Co-ordinators in ensuring that care provided is safe and of a high standard.
You will work with the Labour Ward Lead Consultants, Senior Midwives, Lead Midwives and the Practice Development Midwife to develop a comprehensive training and competency testing package to give assurance that all staff responsible for intrapartum care are competent.
This role is to provide support 9-5 Monday-Friday and the role will be based predominantly in the clinical environment (90%, 10% non-clinical). You will undertake midwifery duties and be responsible for the development of programmes of care for low risk cases.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
