This is a Speciality Doctor post based in Cwm Taf University Health Board for Older Adult Psychiatry, CMHT services and you will be joining colleagues in a very dynamic and forward looking Directorate, with supportive colleagues and a culture where development and progression is embedded.Merthyr Tydfil Community Mental Health Service is based at Kier Hardy Health Park in Merthyr Tydfil, which is a new purpose built facility. The post holder will be clinically responsible to their Consultant, and managerially responsible to Dr Kishore Kale, Clinical Director. The post holder will be required to liaise with other senior clinicians as and when necessary. Further, the post holder will be expected to work at other UHB sites and elsewhere in the community, including patients’ homes from time to time.
The post holder will have access to an excellent Postgraduate Academic programme to cater to CPD requirements. The post holder will have exposure to maintain and develop a range of competencies (including inpatient and community services, out of hours duties and Medical Education and Research) and take up responsibilities tailored to individual career aspirations.
This post comes during a period of change within the Mental Health Directorate, with substantial service alterations happening across Older Peoples’ Services via Valley Life, an innovative project to change the way that care is provided.
