Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow
(Specialty Registrar Level) The successful applicant will join the established Upper Gastrointestinal Team which is a collaborative Research Team to the Regional Upper GI cancer Network. The Clinical Research Fellow will be based at Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil, but may also be required to undertake sessions in Royal Glamorgan Hospital (Llantrisant) and across other sites within the organisation. The initial duration of the post is for 12 months. The post holder will provide elective and emergency surgical commitments at a ST level ( middle grade) on the on call rota. The expected resident on call rota is 1 in 6. South East Wales is a delightful place to live, with easy access to the coast and the natural beauty of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the WyeValley. The area offers excellent opportunities for many outdoor pursuits including hill walking, mountain biking, mountaineering and various water-sports. Established air, rail and sea links provide easy access for travel throughout the UK and beyond. Cardiff, the Capital city of Wales, a vibrant, cosmopolitan city, is only 25 miles South of Merthyr Tydfil offering a wide variety of bars, restaurants, concert venues, theatres, art galleries as well as several shopping centres.
