The CAMH Service is located 15 miles outside the Capital City of Cardiff, a cosmopolitan and vibrant city, host to sporting, recreational and cultural events. There are excellent transport links and easy access of the M4 motorway. An opportunity has arisen for a Locum CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist working in the Cwm Taf University Health Board CAMHS Provider Network, in the Cwm Taf Locality (RCT and Merthyr). This is an exciting time for CAMHS within Wales with the injection of new Welsh Government funding for the development of specific services within CAMHS, including Crisis, First Episode Psychosis, Psychological therapies, Neuro-developmental services and Primary CAMHS. The Cwm Taf UHB Provider Network has recently introduced the Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA). As a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist you will be supported to use your skills and expertise to the full, working as an integral part of the MDT, including nursing, psychology and therapists in various therapeutic modalities. The MDT provides an outpatient specialist CAMH service to children and adolescents up to their eighteenth birthday in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders. The primary role will be to provide direct clinical input to young people and families, especially those whose mental health needs are particularly complex, and to support the other members of the MDT in relation to clinical management of complex cases. On call: Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Rota across the Cwm Taf CAMHS Network 1: 16. Total of 10 Programmed Activities: Specialist CAMHS community team Job Planning/review process: Annually as recommended by GMC and joint medical colleges.
