THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR 3 YEARS DUE TO FUNDING

Applications are invited for a 0.8 wte Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist posts. The posts will form a schools based team working alongside a band 5 Speech and Language Therapist and admin support. The team will be headed by a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist.

The posts are funded by a Service Level Agreement with two Local Authorities. The team and the Service Level agreement is currently in its seventh year. The post holders will work collaboratively with education and health services, to provide support to pupils with a range of complex communication difficulties in school settings. The primary focus of the service will be to provide education and training to school settings combined with a consultative model of working.

The successful candidates will experience the exciting opportunity of working within the new Additional Learning Needs framework for Wales to provide the right support to schools and families to meet the needs of pupils with complex communication difficulties. We are looking for individuals with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Continuing professional development is encouraged in this role and there is a good support structure, including regular line management and clinical meetings.

Cwm Taf Speech and Language Therapy service includes a large team of staff, including paediatric and adult therapists, support workers and administrative staff.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
