Neath Port Talbot CAMHS are recruiting a full time permanent band 7 CAMHS Therapist This could be a Practitioner Psychologist, Nurse, Social Worker or Therapist (including Occupational/ Creative / Play Therapist) with relevant Master’s level (or above) qualifications and evaluated and supervised practice in at least 1 of the major evidence based therapies routinely used within CAMHS (preferably CBT and its variants). We will consider applications from candidates who have identified a job share, but would prefer a full time post holder. You will need to be enthusiastic about improving services for and working directly with young people who are experiencing mental health difficulties and their families.
We are currently developing Cognitive Behavioural (CBT), Psychodynamic and Systemic Family Therapy (SFT) specific services that will be at the core of our psychological therapy provision; we particularly welcome applicants with well developed skills in CBT but also with complementary therapeutic approaches. Ideally you will be an eligible and experienced Care Coordinator under the provisions of the Mental Health Measure (Wales).
You will need excellent team working skills and the ability to identify and deliver appropriately targeted, high quality and effective interventions for children and their families. You are expected to deliver, alongside senior colleagues, a local therapy service and to be able to draw on a range of psychosocial developmental theories and therapeutic modalities to formulate and intervene with complex cases. In addition to other staff in the local teams you may also teach, supervise and consult to staff seeking to develop their psychological knowledge and skills. You will have good opportunities for networking and supervision as part of an established Psychological Therapies Group serving the S Wales CAMHS network area (Cardiff and Vale, Cwm Taf and Abertawe Bro Morgannwyg University Health Boards).
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
