Cwm Taf University Health Board are looking to appoint a Speciality Trainee ( ST3+) to join the Rheumatology Service.
You will provide a clinical service with Rheumatology colleagues, which will include the responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness as an inpatient and as an outpatient according to the agreed Job Plan.
Duties will include providing support for the Medical and Surgical inpatients in the form of Ward Referral opinions and supervision of inpatient care for patients under Rheumatology as part of the junior and middle grade Rheumatology Team. Outpatient work will include 4 outpatient sessions at RGH and DSH to include speciality clinics in Biologic therapy, Lupus and Ankylosing Spondylitis. There will be opportunities to train in accordance with StR expectation with documentation in eportfolio according to previous experience.
Research: There has been a large emphasis on developing research within the Rheumatology Department over the last 5 years. This post would support the Research output of the Rheumatology Team including identifying patients for recruitment into the current trials underway.
You will be required to adhere to the principles of good medical practice laid down in the guidance of ‘Good Medical Practice’ issued by the General Medical Council. You will also be required to participate in the Health Board’s risk management process and in clinical audit and other clinical governance activities within the department, the directorate and the Health Board. Adherence to Caldicot Principles is mandatory. The post holder will be positively encouraged to participate in research and development in line with Health Board Commissioner and NHS priorities.
You will be expected to participate in personal and professional development to fulfil Royal College CME requirements.
Travelling as necessary between hospitals/clinic will be required to undertake such duties.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
