We are looking for highly motivated individual to join our well established multi- disciplinary Community Drug & Alcohol Team. The main purpose of this role is to deliver evidenced based, holistic care to individuals who have problems related to chronic substance misuse. The post in Trealaw Resource Centre is part of the Rhondda Integrated Substance Misuse Service (RISMS), an multi disciplinary team funded by Welsh Government.
The post holder will need to hold a First Level professional qualification in mental health nursing and have excellent clinical knowledge and experience of substance misuse.
Excellent communication, listening and organisational skills are essential and you will need to be able to work as a member of a team in a challenging and changeable environment, along with having excellent presentation, oral and writen communication skills.
You will need to demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and awareness of current clinical practice in substance misuse and mental health, have excellent clinical assessment skills and have sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
The post holder will be expected to manage a caseload of patients with drug and alcohol problems and will work under the leadership of a Band 7 nurse. They will also be involved in education and health promotion issues that are applicable to this patient group and work alongside other professionals who provide services to this patient group.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
