This full time post is one of six Speciality Doctor posts within the Directorate of Adult Mental Health and will be based in Treorchy. The postholder will be expected to work at other sites within the Health Board area and may also be required to undertake some community work and visit hospitals outside the Health Board area.
Duty commitments of the Speciality Doctor relate principally to meeting service requirements but the Directorate believes that individual training needs are also extremely important and is proactive in supporting these. Regulations for the employment of Speciality Doctor allow for flexibility in the deployment, location and roistering of available sessions in consultation with the responsible Consultants. While it must be recognised that meeting service requirements is a priority, the Directorate takes the view that as far as possible these issues should be determined in consultation with the individual Speciality Doctor.
